MetroRail

This was a group project done with Ana Fry, May Yateem, and Jean Viera. We were making the public more aware of the new MetroRail in Austin. Reusable bags were chosen to help encourage people to go green and to also try the MetroRail. Material was purchased, the bags were made, and then we designed the packaging which also provided information about the Rail. Designs were created along with a map to appeal to the target audience chosen for each bag. Messenger bags were for business people and students, Shopping bags were for shoppers who go to the mall, Grocery bag is for shoppers to the grocery store, Drawstring bag was for athletes. Each bag also came with a $5 off coupon (which was on the packaging) for a $20 railway pass. The bags would be sold in stores such as HEB, Academy, BartonCreek Mall, and Borders. All of the bags would be offered at each location.

Flash projects

This is a link to show our introduction to flash and the projects that we were given.

Fieldguide

For our fieldguide we were able to make it about anything and so I chose to make one about the different kinds of pasta. I bought several different kinds, photographed and researched them, and then decided to make them on cards. The front has the name of the pasta along with facts about it and the back shows a picture of what the pasta looks like. These cards would be displayed on tables in restaurants that served pasta in little holders. Friday's has examples of these cards but instead put specials or new items from their menu on them.

Craigslist

Identification

This project we were given a time period in graphic design history and then we were to make examples of what art and design looked like during that time.

How To Guide

For this project we were to pick something to make a How To guide. I picked how to saddle a horse and chose to base it off of the Breyer horses brand and models. Breyer uses blue and the yellow that is shown in this How To guide and that's why I chose this color scheme. The horse head and diagram are also based off of a Breyer horse model.

Concept Map

For our concept map we were given a list of topics that we were able to choose from. I chose Water and decided to go with how it is used in three different categories and where it goes within those categories.

Sandy's Touchscreen Menu

Full Menu

This was a group project that I did with May Yateem and Drew Arnold redesigning an interactive menu for Sandy's Burgers. We used buttons to try to simplify what was on the screen and not have it too cluttered.

Monopoly identification

I decided to use this Monopoly boardgame to show the different examples from graphic design history that played a part in the design and graphic elements of the board.

History Presentation

I covered the Commercial Revolution part of Graphic Desgin history. My presentation notes are at the top.

East Austin Book

Full book

This project was about showing the life in East Austin. We had to go to that area and take photographs that we used in the book. We also used text that was given to us and picked our own text to incorporate in the book.
